Friday Favourites

Todays Friday Favourites is full of pretty things I have found on Etsy. Now I have a job I am spending countless hours looking at beautiful handmade things on Etsy I can buy, and here are just a few I have got my eye on…

1. How cute are these little mushroom birds?? I didnt even know they existed until recently, but there are so many adorable ones on Etsy. These particular ones are from a shop called Caramelos, who sell pretty craft supplies and other bits and bobs.

2. This walrus print is from a shop I mentioned in my previous post – JoJo Norris Illustration. I love all her work is incredible, im torn between this and her fox illustrations. Her shrink plastic brooches are pretty awesome too, and whats even better is that she is based in Nottingham!

3. This print is from another favourite shop of mine on Etsy – LilyMoon. Ill be definitely making a few purchases from this shop but it hard to decide what to get, all her work is so colourful and whimsical – I love it!

4. How adorable is this little minature unicorn?! Its from a shop called Made with Clay and Love, which makes tiny little clay sculptures that are soooo cute. I love them all I just want a collection!

5. Ok so this os one I probably wont buy, but I had to share it anyway. Its by Sweet Bestiary who I absolutely love, all their sculptures are incredible, I particularly love the ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ sculptures but I think they have sold out now!

6. and finally, it was hard to pick a favourite little soft sculpture from this shop but I decided to share this one. Mount Royal Mint creates magical whimsical soft sculptures from felt that are absolutely beautiful, again I want them all!

Crafty Cat purchases and Harry Potter

I could have spent so much money at the recent Crafty Cat Market, I managed to control my urge however and just bought a few things…

SAM_0166

First I bought a hand painted Custard Cream cushion by Claire, the artist behind Bleubird. Its a fairly new business so I dont have a website or anything to link you to yet, but her cushions are amazing!

I wanted to buy several, there were some hand painted owl cushions too which were adorable, and some round bird and flower patterned ones. Claire will be at our next market on the 8th of June so maybe I will buy a few more…especially if she creates some more biscuit themed ones!

SAM_0167Next I bought some cute little cat badges from JayneyMac. Jane sells all sorts of cute stationary and cards, and she also does tote bags with the cute cat design on.

I wanted to buy a couple of her mini notebooks but stopped myself as I have so many books and note books that havent got a word written in them. I have some sort of addition to Paperchase where I have to buy a pretty blank book whenever im in there! Anyway, JayneyMac will also be coming back to our market in June so if you like the look of her work pop down to Sneinton Market on the 8th of June!

SAM_0168…and finally one of my absolute favourite stalls was JoJo Norris Illustration!

Her illustrations are amazing and I love every single one of them. I settled on buying this puffin print, and JoJo gave me a free postcard of the panda and a smaller version of the puffins. Im saving my pennies to buy some more of her prints and notebooks as I loved them all! JoJo will also be coming back to the Crafty Cat Market in July!

Last week I visited the Harry Potter Studio’s (again). I watched all the films before I went and im currently reading through the books again too, it was such an awesome day – anything Harry Potter related and im happy! When I got home I decided to treat myself to this….

SAM_0160…I have been after it for a while but since it is £150 I have always talked myself out of getting. I saw it in a cabinet however at the studios and it was even bigger and better then I imagined so I ordered it as soon as I got home. Its incredible, and huge, and filled with so many amazing things. My favourite has to be the Horcrux locket, I can add it to my collection of Harry potter memorabilia – which I have a lot of – maybe ill share it all on here one day.

In other news my creations are now being stocked in the real world! Nottingham Craft Mafia has opened up a new crafty shop in Hopkinsons in Nottingham, and im excited to announce my stuff is for sale in there! Its so exciting to have my creations actually out in a physical place other than a craft fair. I popped on at the weekend and it looks as though I have had a few sales already! If your local to Nottingham pop in and have a look, there are lots of wonderful items in there from Local crafters such as Owlish Grey, Kate Broughton, Papercut Princess and many more!

Crafty Cat Collective

…so I havent blogged much recently, its not through not wanting to or having nothing to say – but I just havent had the time. I started a new job last week, it was the 2nd Crafty Cat Arts and Crafts Market at the weekend, and it seems as soon as I dont have hours of free time on my hands the orders have started flooding in! Not that I am complaining though, I still get super excited when I log onto my Etsy to find someone somewhere has purchased something I have made :)

The Crafty Cat Collective Market at the weekend went very well indeed, despite the eratic weather, luckily we had all packed away before the torrential downpour! There were some wonderfully talented stall holders there, and I ended up making a few purchases with the money I had made from my own stall. I will share pictures of my purchases tomorrow when theres more light for taking photos, but for now here are a few pictures of the Craft Market…

Wish List

I finally got offered a job today, soon I will have a bit of extra money coming in (being poor has not suited me well at all). Its weeks before I actually start but im already thinking of what I can spend my newly earned money on. Aside from the mountain of craft supplies and fabrics I want I’ve been eyeing up a few dresses recently, some I probably wont buy as they’re still a little out of my price range but still, I can admire them all the same! Now I just have to decide which one to treat myself to first – I think it might be the biscuit print one!

1. Float Couture Dress from Modcloth. 2. Winged Things Dress from Modcloth. 3. You Mint Business Dress from Modcloth. 4. Flamingo with the Flow Dress from Modcloth. 5. Sweet me off my Feet Dress from Modcloth. 6. Scene and Believed Dress from Modcloth. 7. The Biscuit Dress by Caitlin Shearer. 8. The Blue Rosette Dress by Caitlin Shearer. 9. Write About Us dress by Passion Peach

white post farm

Sometimes I hate living in a city, I hate the noise and the people and want nothing more than to be in the countryside somewhere in the middle of nowhere. When I had a car I used to drive into derbyshire several times a week and get lost somewhere in the peak district or go camping at Stanton in Peak. Now I no longer have a car, and trains and buses are expensive and they dont really stop in remote places. This week I went to White Post Farm, and although its not really the middle of nowhere it made me realise how much I miss being able to hop in my car and go somewhere green!

Anyway, White Post Farm was great, I really only wanted to go so I could feed the llamas but since its spring there were lots of baby animals about! The goats were a bit scary, as soon as they see you’ve got some food they all come charging, headbutting anything that gets in their way – I was trying to feed a llama and goats were trying to jump over the fence at me. I also loved the reptile room (except the snakes) the little geckos were so cute! Here are some photos I got on the day, it was my first chance to use my new camera too…

♥♥ Friday Favourites ♥♥

1. Studio Ghibli has a new film coming out this year and I cant wait!

2. I LOVE this dress, its from a shop on Etsy called Passion Peach. They make all kinds of beautiful vintage inspired dresses in cool prints!

3. I never wear leggings, but I would make an exception for these! They’re from a shop on Etsy called Carousel Ink.

4. This brooch is from one of my favourite shops on Etsy called Literary Emporium – gifts for booklovers!

5. I was introduced to this shop by my friend Gemma from Owlish Grey. Its called Lilymoon and is filled with beautiful whimsical illustrationsand accessories.

6. Finally I found this image on Google, I love sushi but I would love it even more if my local Yo Sushi would present it like this! I dont think id want to eat it though it looks so amazing!

♥♥ crafty cats and latest creations ♥♥

I havent blogged in a while, things have been quite busy here at Handmade Raspberry HQ! Now I finally have the time to write a post I have a long list of things to talk about!

First up is the Crafty Cat Collective. If you’ve read some of my previous posts you’ll know me and my friend Katie have been organising a new craft fair in Nottingham. Last Saturday saw the official launch of the Crafty Cat Collective Arts and Crafts Markets – and im very happy to say it was SUCCESS! The sun was shining and it was almost warm (which is a huge deal as it had just as much chance of snowing or raining)! We had a lot of customers coming to have a look around, and the hours of promotion and marketing I put in seemed to pay off as a lot of people knew about us!

I was more worried on the day about everyone having a good time and getting lots of sales more than I was myself, but it was such a fantastic day and everyone had a great time! We cannot wait to hold the next event on the 11th of May! Here are some pictures from our first market…

Next up is my first Crafty Creatives Box. If you havent heard of Crafty Creatives go check it out, its like those veg boxes you can have delivered to your door – except its fully of crafty supplies – BEST THING EVER!

I recieved my first box today, and was so happy to find that the theme was ‘blue’ – my favourite colour! There was so much stuff included and I cannot wait to get stuck into making something with all my new supplies! Heres a photo of what was included in mine, including the pretty fabric its all sitting on **SPOILER ALERT**

Tomorrow will the Handmade Raspberry’s 1st birthday! I cant believe its been a year already since I set up my Etsy Shop and Blog, and officially went into business! The year has flown by, and I have had a fantastic year crafting and sending my creations to people all over the world. Tomorrow I will be celebrating, but I also want to share this special day with you too – so look out for a special offer/suprise tomorrow!

Finally, I have been making stuff like crazy recently so here are a few of the things I have been making…

♥♥ Craft Fair ♥♥

Today I did a craft fair at the Stop Bar in Nottingham, it was a quiet day but I did get to meet some lovely talented people and also managed to read a book the time I was there! Anyway, here are some photos from the day, every stall was beautiful and filled with fantastic handmade creations.

Here is my stall…

SAM_0062

One of my favourite stalls there was ‘Made with Love’, selling a range of things from owl cushions, hair bows and peg bags to notebooks, address books and bunting. All her creations were made out of the most beautiful fabrics and were absoluteley gorgeous. I wanted to buy everything, even a peg bag – which I have no use for as I dont have a washing line!

SAM_0064

Frances Fantastic was also there selling a fabulous range of plastic jewellery and accessories. I especially loved her pink flamingo creations! Frances will also be holding a stall at our Crafty Cat Collective Market next saturday which I am so excited about!

Selling a variety of bath melts, candles, bath salts and melts was Wild Olive. They stall was so pretty and the little bath melts that looked like little pots of whipped ice cream were so cute! You could buy them individually for the very reasonable price of £2.50, you you could buy a set of six which come packaged in a pretty pink egg box!

…and finally another stall I loved was Handmade By Claire Morgan. Claire had a range of cushions, bags, badges and bows all made out of beautiful floral fabrics, again I wanted to have a bit of a shopping spree but had to stop myself!

There were lots more stalls there selling wonderful things like hand printed cards, needle felted creatiosns, hand knitted goods and contemporary portraits. I only wish more people had visited us today to see all the lovely creations and very talented people nottingham has to offer. Its a shame Nottingham doesnt have more of a crafty community, the crafters seem to be here but the people willing to buy handmade dont! Hopefully mine and Katies latest adventure to organise local craft fairs will change that!

♥♥ Friday Favourites ♥♥

1. Cat Shoes! and in my favourite colour!? i LOVE these…

2. These stacked teacup bookshelves are absolutely amazing and id love to have them in my home! They are from a shop on Etsy called Woodcurve that do all sorts of crazy shelving that looks like something straight out of Wonderland!

3. I love wearings headbands and hair bows and other things in my hair, so when I saw this I fell in love with it – a cupcake on a headband! Its from a shop on Etsy called Shimrit’a who sells all sorts of cupcake themed jewellery and accessories!

4. This brooch is from a shop iv been admiring on Etsy for a while now called Kates Little Store. Kate makes wonderfull wooden brooches and other accessories, mostly Game of Thrones or Twin Peaks themed but with lots of other pretties too.

5. This dress! I love it, i still havent managed to get hold of the love heart dress from my previous friday favourites and now iv found this one too! Although this one is a little pricey so I cant really justify buying it (not that i could afford it anyway!) but isnt it lovely!? Perfect for spring/summer (if it ever stops snowing and raining!)

6. Finally the Totoro bed…i cant believe this even exists – i want to snuggle up to totoro every night like a big overgrown kid!

♥♥ etsy trades, post circle and crafty cat progress ♥♥

The last two weeks have been quite busy so I have a few things to share with you. First up is a recent trade I did on etsy, for anyone who doesnt know etsy provides trading or swapping opportunities with other sellers, where you can trade your creations with other talented crafters. Its a great way to share each others creations and perfect if, like me, funds are a little tight!

DIGITAL CAMERAKay from Ruby Robin Boutique recently got in touch about a trade and I was ecstatic because to say I love her shop would be an understatement! It is filled with vintage inspired whimsical jewellery and accessories, and I had been looking through her shop recently trying to decide which piece I wanted to buy, so I was more than flattered when she got in touch about a trade.

After about an hour of looking I finally decided to do a trade for this brooch – isnt it beautiful! I could have chosen any number of things but I am glad I finally settled on this, it looks perfect pinned to my pastel dresses or my pink cardigan. It came beautifully packaged in a little blue box with a vintage style fragile sticker on the front. The brooch itself is so well made and absolutely beautiful!

Here are a few other items from Ruby Robin Boutique that I adore, just to show you how hard to one to choose an item! I love the fox necklace, I think its probably my favourite thing in the whole shop!

You can find the Ruby Robin Boutique here, and Kay also has a blog where she writes about making, baking, thrifting and other adventures, you can find that here.

DIGITAL CAMERANext up is Post Circle. I recently found out about this little project when reading a blog, the lovely Anna from Miss Beatrix had the brilliant idea of creating a post circle, where bloggers and crafters and the like post each other a little something through the mail – who doesnt like recieving packages through the post? Everyone who signs up is put into a group and then those people post each other a little something, it can be anything – a hand written letter, a few cute buttons, some stickers – anything!  Today I have got my first bit of post ready to go – I can tell you whats in it though incase the recipient reads this before receiving it as it is supposed to be a suprise!

You can find out more about it on the Miss Beatrix blog, I love the idea and am very excited to recieve my first bit of post circle mail!

Finally a couple of weeks ago I shared with you all the exciting announcement that Katie and me had got together to organise a new local arts and crafts market in nottingham – and DIGITAL CAMERAthings have been moving along very quickly since then! We have our first market all arranged and we are almost fully booked already! Our flyers and postcards arrived yesterday so tomorrow will be spent sticking them up around town and asking stores and cafes to put flyers in their windows.

What do you think to our flyers and out little Crafty Cat Mascot? Our first market will be on the 13th of April, and then every second saturday of the month after that (hopefully increasing to a fornightly event during the summer). We’re very excited and cannot for our first event – its safe to say we’ve been working very hard to get everything ready in time and we really hope its a success! It will be nice to establish a local crafty community where we can all get together and have fun whilst promoting our shops and earning a bit of money along the way!

You can find our Crafty Cat blog here, and our facebook page here!

♥♥ Friday Favourites ♥♥

A selection of things that have made me smile this week….

1.  I saw this bag today when I was in town and fell in love with it instantly. Its a new range by Disaster Designs called Once Upon a Time, and this is the Hansel and Gretel bag. You can find it on amazon here.

2. Iv been a fan of this shop for a while, and when I have enough pennies I will be buying one of their neckaces! You can find I Love Crafty on Etsy here.

3. A flamingo  skirt? Handmade? and only £22?! Yes please! This is part of a new range of skirts with birds printed on them by Vintage Style me.

4. I love this digital portrait of Lady Mary from Downton Abbey by the very talented Kate from Scathingly Brilliant. This print is available in her Sweet and Lovely store on Etsy.

5. This is my new favourite dress and Ive been trying to track one down for the last week, but without any luck! I will find one on ebay one day, if its the last thing I do! In this particular photo the dress is being modelled by one of my favourite fellow bloggers – Kailey of Mermaidens.

6. and finally, i know this is probably intended to go in a nursery but I love it and want one for my home! Littles sell a range of whimsical style shelving, hooks, and home decor – it was hard to pick a favourite !

♥♥ Crafty Cat Collective ♥♥

Theres lots of exciting stuff happening at the minute, but the main thing I am going to share with you is mine and Katie’s latest adventure. We have joined forces to organise a monthly craft fair at the Sneinton Market in Nottingham!

Sneinton Market is being relaunched which is exciting in itself, and soon running alongside the traditional Sneinton Market will be the Crafty Cat Collective – a celebration of local artists and crafters showcasing and selling their wares.

Its still in the early planning stages, so Katie and me have a lot of work ahead of us…creating promotional material such as flyers and postcards, advertising it in local papers and magazines, spreading the word and setting up the blog and facebook page – so look out for all that coming soon! In the meantime if your interested in having a stall then you can email us at craftycatcollective@hotmail.co.uk to register your interest, and as soon as were up and running and the details are sorted we can forward the information and booking forms onto you.

In other news I have set myself a new little project (I dont think im quite busy enough at the minute what with crafts fairs, the Crafty Cat Collective, Accounting Training, job hunting, my etsy shop, my blog…this list could go on forever)…anyway what was I saying? I’ve forgotten…oh yeah, I have set myself a new project of digital portraits. I have decided I need to get better at illustration and using my graphics tablet, so I am going to be doing digital portraits of friends, family, favourite bloggers and etsy shop owners to develop my skills and illustration style. When I think they’re good enough Ill be offering the service in my Etsy Store. My first attempt is of my friend Victoria…what do you think?

♥♥ etsy nottingham meet ♥♥

429770_438326549582790_1379482072_nLast Saturday I dragged myself out in the rain and the cold for the much anticipated Etsy Nottingham Meet in the Divine Coffee House – and im so glad I braved the horrible weather! Around 40 local Etsy sellers all came together to share stories, hints, tips and just have a general chit chat. I met lots of lovely and talented people; some I already knew, others I had spoken to over facebook and etsy but had never actually met before, and a few I have kept in regular contact with since.

I thought I would promote some of the local talent and share with you some of my favourite etsy shops who’s owners were at the meet…

539825_574673569212561_102179385_nFirst up is the Forgotten Library! If you’ve read my blog before or follow me on facebook them im sure you will have heard me mention this literary themed shop before. The mastermind behind the shop is Charlotte, an incredibly talented lady who turns old books into clocks, magnets, hair accessories, keyrings and much more. You can find her etsy store here, she also regularly sells at craft fairs in and around nottingham, and you can also find her creations in Hopkinsons and Vintage to a Tea. Above is a picture of one of her craft stalls so you can see the sorts of things Charlotte makes…

Next is Owlish Grey! Gemma is the artist behind this store, which sells jewellery, cards, accessories and lots more inspired by science and nature. The story of Owlish Grey is one of big success, having only recently set up her store towards the end of last year, Gemma has recieved over 170 sales already, and thats just on Etsy! Shes also experience even bigger success on Not On The High Street. I love everything about this shop, I love the name, I il_fullxfull.417766016_iyb2love the banner Gemma created, I love the little animals she includes in her photos and I love the simplicity and the beauty of her jewellery creations. If you like Owlish Grey on facebook Gemma is always sharing the best free printables and other bits and bobs too. This is on my favourite items in her store at the minute and iv had my eye on it for a while AND its on sale! but at the minute I dont even have £9 to spare ‘sob’ but I will own it…one day! You can find Owlish Grey on Etsy here, and on NOTHS here, Gemma also has a website which you can find here.

il_570xN.341884214Finally its Laura’s Jewellery (not techinically from Nottingham but I love this store so im throwing it in there). Laura makes beautiful vintage inspired jewellery using the original Alice in Wonderland and Wizard of Oz illustrations, butterflies, birds, moustaches, rabbits, nautical things and lots of other bits and bobs. I own two of her necklaces and they are some of my favourite pieces to wear, and people always comment on them. If I had more money I would buy all her alice and oz jewellery! You can find Laura’s etsy shop here, she has also just started a shiny new blog where shes promising to share some of her hints and tips about selling on etsy, you can find that here.

So thats all for now, I would love to share every single local business that was at the meet but that would take me hours and pages and pages of this blog, so for now I will just share a few of my favourites. I havent really blogged over the last week or so but iv got lots of stuff to show you and talk about over the next few days so look out for some regular postings!

♥♥ my first tutorial ♥♥

DIGITAL CAMERAToday I have published my first tutorial – how to make your own collar/cardigan clips! You can find it by clicking on the diy link on the menu at the top of the page or on the picture to the left. Let me know what you think, its my first tutorial so I hope I explained eveything clearly!

Iv been busy the past few days completing etsy orders and designing new bits and bobs…heres a few drawings I did yesterday that I am going to turn into brooches, collar clips and bags too… Iv been trying to think up some other vintage items that I can draw but im drawing a blank…any ideas or suggestions, anything that you would like to see as a brooch or painted onto a tote bag?

DIGITAL CAMERA

I have turned the typewriter illustration (which is my favourite one) into a brooch already, hopefully going to be listed on my etsy store tonight…

♥♥…craft fairs, vintage fairs and fashion shows…♥♥

Sorry I havent posted for a while, had lots of etsy orders to complete and then I was struck down with a cold (im mardy when im poorly and just mope around feeling sorry for myself). Despite feeling a bit under the weather I deicded to get myself out the flat this weekend and visit some local events that I had been looking forward to for a while…

DEDICATED-POSTER…the first was the Dedicated Fashion Show at the Creative Quarter in the Lace Market last night. There were two fashion shows throughout the evening showcasing local designers and independant shops – one of my favourite clothing stores in Nottingham was there – Frock! If you havent heard of Frock go and take a look at their website or if your local to Nottingham head over to their store on Forest Road East – if you love vintage rockabilly style dresses then you will love this store! All their dresses are handmade and can be customised to your tastes, style and size! One day (very far in the future) I will commission them to make my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses (I say again, VERY far in the future).

There were also several craft stalls in an outside area selling a range of handmade treasures, my favourite stall was by a lady called Deborah Ballinger, who is a very talented illustrator. I particularly loved her range of temporary tattoos which included woodland animals and vintage items such as clocks and old telephones. You can find her store on etsy here.  Live music and from local bands and djs played throughout the night, and red wine was only £2 a glass – so whats not to enjoy?! and to make it all the more better all the proceeds from the event go to a local charity called Framework, who work hard to get the homeless off the streets and provie them with a better future.

Today I got myself out of bed early to visit a craft fair in Beeston, Nottingham. I heard about it through a friend who also happens to be the talented mastermind behind one of my favourite handmade businesses ever – the Forgotten Library! I love and collect books so naturally I fell in love with this shop as soon as I saw it, and luckily I have had the chance to meet the owner Charlotte several times and purchased quite a few of her items. Heres what I got today…

DIGITAL CAMERA  DIGITAL CAMERA

DIGITAL CAMERA … the Forgotten Library makes a range of clocks, cards, magnets, keyrings and much more using old and vintage books and today she had a huge sale on and everything was buy one get one free so I got two Disney clocks for £5!!!! I also got this huge lot of decoupage bits and bobs for £4!

276989_391649044263156_35693302_n

The last event I went to was the Nottingham Vintage Fair, I wanted to get lots of photos of the inside of this place to show you as the range of vintage fashion and other goodies was incredible – but it was just so busy there was no chance to get any photos of anything without having randoms peoples hands in shot grabbing things to buy before anyone else could! I loved it, I did purchase a teacup and some little owl hair slides but everything else was a little out of my price range, but the vintage dresses were sooo pretty! They also had a vintage hair and make up salon there too which I desperately wanted to get involved in but funds wouldnt allow!

So overall I had a pretty eventful weekend :)

etsy shop feature – Butterscotch & Beesting!

Today I went to the Pretty Dandy Flea in Nottingham, there were lots of lovely stalls and I made a few pretty purchases – one of my favourite shops on Etsy was there however which was a very nice suprise. I have admired Butterscotch and Beesting from afar but today I got to have a nosy at their products up close and buy a few to take home with me :)

logo_blog

Butterscotch and Beesting is a whimsical vintage circus/carnival themed store – I love circus themed things so naturally this store caught my eye! Behind this magical store is a very talented lady called Camilla Westergaard, who makes, illustrates and designs everything – she describes herself as a silent partner however and proclaims the real stars of the show to be Miss Betty Butterscotch and Mr Bumblewick Beesting!

Camilla not only has a talent for art and illustration, but also for storytelling – each time you make a purchase, a little Butterscotch and Beesting story is included in the package which is full of magic and whimsy and beautiful illustrations.

You can buy a range of circus goodies from sweets, confectionary, prints and illustrations to pocket mirrors, cushions and my particular favourites – the lampshades. Everything is beautifully unique and full of bright colours and inspiring images – I really cannot praise this store enough and if I had more money, I would buy EVERYTHING from it!

Unfortunately I dont have all the money in the world, so today I couldnt buy everything from the store – I did however get myself a few goodies. I really REALLY wanted an illustration of the moon dressed as a clown, and at £15 it wasnt even that expensive – infact it was a bargain! But it was £15 I didnt have so I decided to get myself three illustrated cards (which I figured I could stick on my wall and then Id have three small prints instead of one big one) and a packet of coconut fudge ice.

Here are the little cards I bought – at 3 for £5 I thought they were a bargain, and atleast I got a little version of the moon print I wanted!

DIGITAL CAMERA

…and heres the packet of Coconut Fudge Ice, all the sweets came in lovely illustrated packaging like this one, so it was hard to pick which one to buy! I settled on this one just because I love coconut ice but I could have bought them all…and the sweets are absolutely delicious too!

DIGITAL CAMERA

On the back of each of the sweet packets is a little story behind the sweets – but this isnt just some run of the mill story about confectionary or how they’re ‘handmade with love’ etc etc but a magical little story about Miss Betty Butterscotch:

‘Betty can rarely resist a throw at the Butterscotch and Beesting Circus coconut shy (especially one with such a dashing gent at the helm), and with her strong sweet-making arms, she is rather adept at knocking them off their stands. Not one to waste, Betty though it best to put all those prize coconuts to good use, and came up with this ever-so-delicious Coconut Fudge Ice. Yum. Better keep winning those coconuts Betty!’

Every inch of this shop is filled with magic, charm and whimsy and the attention to detail in everything Camilla creates is just incredible. You can find Butterscotch and Beesting on Etsy by clicking on the banner below…

one of those days…

Im having one of those days today where I just dont feel inspired, im unmotivated and everything I try and do just isnt working out – I think its partly to do with the fact that it is so cold in my flat and all I want to do is curl up in bed and watch studio ghibli films – but no! I WILL be atleast a little bit productive today! I have organised my books into colour order, I suppose that gets me some points for effort….and I also made these new collar clips today…

DIGITAL CAMERA

DIGITAL CAMERA

…the kawaii cloud collar clips are definitely my favourite ♥ look out for lots more coming soon and being added to my etsy shop. Speaking of my etsy shop…I have decided to have a bit of a spring clean in the form of a 50% off SALE – yes 50%!!! Theres lots of goodies being sold off cheap to make way for new designs. Ill be keeping the sale on for as long as I can before I just delist the things that havent sold, I want my store to have a more consistant theme and style rather than lots of different odds and ends…so go check it out if your looking for a bargain!

Im going to leave you with this super awesome FREE printable of a pink paper fawn and little mushrooms…how impossibly cute is that?? Click on the picture to be re-directed to the Fantastic Toys Blog where you can download the free PDF to create your own ♥

♥♥…todays creations…♥♥

Today I tried my hand at making some detachable collars – I love any dress that has a pretty peter pan collar, and now all my dresses can! They’re super easy to make, and now I can have one in any pattern/design I want! My favourite is definitely the strawberry print one…

Im going to be making lots more this week and adding them to my Etsy Store to sell, so look out for those coming soon. Though I only had enough of the strawberry fabric to make one and I am going to have to keep that one for myself!

I am still obsessing over shrink plastic this week and have made a few more little brooches… heres two of my favourites…
